Okay, so that's the boring stuff. Here's what you really need to know!
I am graduating at the end of this semester and I don't know what's next! I'd love to stay in Pittsburgh where my family, friends, and church are, but it's not really up to me. If I find a great job in a great city, I'll go! I just want to care for people, play music, and enjoy the ride.
My biggest passions are my Christian faith, music, friendships, sports, and writing.
I belong to The Open Door, a little hippie/hipster church on the east end of Pittsburgh. My faith gives my life purpose, which is why I rarely become discouraged.
If my faith is my purpose, then music is the engine. I have a soundtrack for every second of my life, which is played by mostly pretentious indie bands, folk artists who own 5 shirts collectively, and pop-punk/rock bands that I should have stopped listening to in high school.
My favorite things to do are to enjoy a good beer or meal with good friends, play music (mostly drums and guitar), play or watch sports (Pittsburgh!), and write. I journal quite a bit in addition to blogging (see: http://johnjacobnelko.blogspot.com/).
